Whether castings are poured in our sand foundry or elsewhere, we can deliver them as semi-machined, finish-machined, or as an assembly. We machine a wide range of alloys, including high alloy/stainless steel, bronze, brass, copper-based, nickel-based, carbon/low-alloy steels, and wear-resistant alloys.
Our cutting-edge equipment and team of experienced, certified machinists allow us to meet the tightest tolerance requirements for the most critical components. We specialize in the machining of large castings up to 88 inches in diameter with a height of seven feet and a weight of 10,000 pounds. We can provide dynamic balancing up to 6500 pounds. We also have the unique ability to machine keyways up to 4.5 inches wide and 40 inches long.
In addition to machining new castings, we can repair, refurbish, remanufacture or completely re-engineer used and damaged parts.
If you seek to improve the quality of your castings and lower the cost of quality, consider having your machining performed by your castings manufacturer. When a castings supplier is asked to deliver un-machined castings, they are prevented from identifying and resolving issues that can only be discovered during the machining process. Castings suppliers that are responsible for the machined castings have the knowledge, incentive and tools necessary to provide the most efficient solution.
Read the Steel Founders’ Society of America’s whitepaper, “Challenges in Machining Steel Castings,” to learn more about how purchasing machined castings from your castings supplier can help ensure you receive the best quality castings.
Badger Alloys continuously invests in the latest machining equipment, like the Hyundai Vertical Turning Lathe that allows us to machine large, complex and/or nonconforming part shapes. Our machinists have decades of experience and are certified in traditional and modern machining skills.
