With heavy hearts, we share that Helen M. Cowen passed away peacefully on October 29, 2026, at the age of 92. Mother of Badger Alloys CEO Rob Cowen and wife of the company’s founder, the late Les Cowen, Helen was the quiet and strong “rock” of the Cowen family and an unyielding supporter of Badger Alloys. In 1966, with two small children at home and another – Rob – on the way, Helen encouraged her husband’s entrepreneurial spirit as he purchased Badger Brass & Aluminum, known today as Badger Alloys. She braved the ups, downs, thrills and risks associated with owning a small business while raising a young family. Badger Alloys would not have become the successful family business it is today, 60 years after its formation, without Helen’s faithful support and influence.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home in Mequon, 3 PM until the time of Funeral Service at 5 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association are deeply appreciated.
