Successfully transitioned to and led by the second generation of management, this family-owned casting manufacturer is currently cultivating the next generation of leadership.

We’re proud of our legacy! Founded in 1966 by Leslie Cowen, Badger Alloys now is led by his son, Rob Cowen, and other family members hold critical roles in the company. For nearly 60 years, the Cowen family has poured their hearts into this business, our employees, and the surrounding community.

Robert S. Cowen

President & CEO

“Do the right thing” has been Rob’s leadership philosophy since his father transitioned the business to him in 2007. Fortunately for the company, that philosophy has paid off. Under Rob’s leadership, Badger Alloys has more than doubled in size — financially and physically. The company has earned numerous awards, including Manufacturer of the Year, Inc. 5000, and Future 50 Fastest Growing Companies. Rob personally has been honored with the Bravo Entrepreneur Award and numerous trade and community recognitions.

Rob has been part of Badger Alloys his entire career, working his way through various positions before eventually taking the reins. He is or has been a member of Young Presidents Organization, ME3 (Milwaukee Economy, Energy, Environment), Junior Achievement, Hydraulic Institute, Steel Founders Society of America, American Foundry Society, and more.


Marshall Moore

VP, Manufacturing & Engineering

“I strive for on-time, on-budget, quality delivery. Period.”

Marshall brings decades of manufacturing experience to his role at Badger Alloys. His 40+ years with the company bring unmatched value to our customers and our team. With a drive for continuous process improvement, Marshall is known and respected for his passion for getting customers what they want, when they want it.

Marshall is responsible for overseeing and optimizing manufacturing operations, ensuring quality, efficiencies, safety, and cost effectiveness.


John Zwicki, CPA

Controller

“I enjoy working with the strategic leadership team at Badger Alloys to forecast and identify efficiencies that impact the company’s bottom line.”

With 30 years’ experience in public and private accounting, John offers a multi-faceted background to our rapidly growing family business. His foundational strengths in financial reporting and analysis complement his strategic vision for process improvement and corporate growth. John is a collaborative problem solver who provides critical insights for strategic direction.

A graduate of University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point, John is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American and Wisconsin Institutes of CPAs.


Brad Moore, Director of Sales Engineering

Director of Sales Engineering

“My focus is on redeveloping our front-end processes to continually improve our response to customers’ changing — and increasing — demands.”

A member of the Badger Alloys team for his entire career, Brad has experience in every aspect of the business. That deep understanding of the company, our processes, and our customers — combined with his training as an engineer — fuels Brad’s passion for keeping Badger Alloys at the forefront of the metal-casting industry. Brad has been instrumental in moving Badger Alloys into Next Generation Manufacturing well ahead of the competition. He spearheaded the company’s investment in robotics and 3D-printed molds to offer rapid-response technologies to customers.

Brad has presented at numerous industry conferences. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering from University of Wisconsin – Madison.


Emily Blakeslee, SHRM-SCP, SPHR

Human Resources Manager

“I’m an employee advocate and servant leader who empowers staff and designs strategies to attract and retain critical talent.”

Emily drives initiatives that enhance employee recruitment, performance, engagement and retention. She is responsible for cultivating a strong company culture.

Emily has more than 10 years of experience in human resources strategy and administration. She is a SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) and is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources by HRCI (SPHR). She holds a Master of Business Administration degree in human resource management from Southern New Hampshire University and a bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University. Emily also earned a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from University of South Florida Muma College of Business.


Kevin Boylen

Foundry Manager

“I strive to improve manufacturing efficiency, increase plant productivity, and motivate employees to work safely while adhering to Badger Alloys’ high quality standards.”

Kevin oversees all foundry operations to ensure safety, quality and production goals are met. He seeks opportunities for continuous improvement and implements initiatives in compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

Kevin has 20 years of manufacturing leadership experience, including roles at Triton Trailers, Signicast Investment Castings and ScanPac Manufacturing. He has a degree in applied science and business from University of Wisconsin.


Amanda Hofmann

Customer Service Manager

“Over the past 50+ years, the bar has been set high for customer service at Badger Alloys. I work hard every day to ensure customers’ questions are answered, orders are processed, and needs are met according to their expectations.”

Amanda oversees customer inquiries, orders, and other customer service matters, maintaining the high levels of service expected by Badger Alloys’ customers.

Amanda is a seasoned manager with 20+ years of experience elevating the customer experience through service and sales. She is OSHA-10 certified and attended Carroll University.


Dan Kaul

Quality Manager

“I am passionate about using statistics and data analytics to identify and solve complex quality system and technical challenges.”

As a data-driven Quality Manager with nearly 20 years of metal casting experience, Dan brings a broad background in serving diverse sectors, including aerospace, automotive, medical, and commercial. His expertise lies in leveraging statistics and data analytics to implement robust quality strategies and ensure the production of world-class castings.

Dan has a proven track record of overseeing all quality systems, processes, and personnel. His technical background includes practical experience in tooling and process design, metrology, commercial and military welding applications, and database design. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, Dan is a member of the Steel Founders’ Society of America (SFSA).


Nick Hanson

Sales Engineer

“I enjoy connecting with customers, prospective customers and others in the industry to share industry best practices and match Badger Alloys’ capabilities with their casting needs.”

As sales engineer, Nick builds and manages customer relationships to establish Badger Alloys as the castings supplier of choice through outstanding communication and service. He serves as a liaison between customers and our engineering team to ensure we meet customer requirements for quality, performance and reliability in our castings. He also collaborates with prospective customers to identify how Badger Alloys can help them expand their made-in-America castings supply chains.

Nick has more than 20 years of sales experience, primarily in the metals/castings manufacturing industry. He achieved the Six Sigma Black Belt and earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
